Berni Kokot is a Chicago native with a definitive flair for fashion. Born and raised in Chicago shortly after her parents moved to the United States from Europe, she has always had a keen eye and feel for a style that can only be described as unique and dramatic!

After years of pursuing fashion in personal dress and accessories, Berni became interested in jewelry design. She simply was no longer satisfied to buy jewelry and decided to try designing and making her own fashions. Little did she realize that after making several pieces for herself, the response by friends and business associates was overwhelming.

"Can you make one of those for me?" This became often heard that Berni decided to make pieces for others.

Guided by a belief in the principles of unique style and quality, KokoGems was launched! Deciding that her jewelry should be fashionable and affordable, her designs are intriguing to those with a desire to own something truly personal.
